On this episode of the Bourbon Friday Show, we had the opportunity to talk with Erin Joy, CEO and Founder of Black Dress Circle.
Black Dress Circle—Making a Positive Impact in the Lives of Entrepreneurs
For Joy, being fearless is something that embodies her work every day. With the ultimate goal of being able to positively change the lives of entrepreneurs everywhere, being fearless is a great place to start.
“I have a commitment to make a positive impact in the lives of entrepreneurs all over the world,” says Joy, “and when my commitment is in front of me, I will do things that have me get out of my own way and have me set aside my concern, and to be bigger than myself.”
So it comes as no surprise that her work at Black Dress Circle emulates that outlook.
Black Dress Circle is an organization here in St. Louis with the aim of supporting and coaching female CEOs, founders, and entrepreneurs. Joy works with clients from the startup range, first stage startups, to the often neglected second stage startup businesses with a range of $1 million to $50 million in annual revenue.
In addition to coaching services, Joy also aims to enrich the entrepreneurship community here by bringing in other great coaching and entrepreneurial minds from around the world.
Most recently, Joy helped bring in Matthew Ferry for the event: A Quiet Mind is A High-Performance Mind—Practical Ways To Leverage Mental Capital To Produce Exponential Results. This event focused on developing a mind capable of shutting out mental clutter so you can focus on logical reasoning, critical thinking, and gaining intuitive insights that spark creativity and innovation in life and business.
While this event has already passed, be on the lookout for more inspiring events soon.

As always, the Bourbon Friday team does their best to choose a fitting drink for the occasion.
The drink of choice was Ironroot Harbinger XC Straight Bourbon Whiskey. This bourbon, distilled and produced in north Texas by the Ironroot Republic Distillery owes its unique flavor profile to Nancy “The Nose” Fraley. Fraley, after finding out at a young age that she had a keener sense of smell than most, put her nose to work consulting with distilleries around the world to create unique products that draw consumers in with their distinctive tasting notes and olfactory experiences.
