Owners of Sameem’s Restaurant Opens Cafe 7even on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive

Fahime Mohammad, an Owner of Sameem’s Restaurant in The Grove, is hosting a Grand Opening of Cafe 7even all day today until 7:00 pm.

Foodpreneur, Fahime Mohammad, outside his new venue, Cafe 7even.

He’s best known for founding Sameem Afghan Restaurant which has been an active ingredient to the startup ecosystem, operating out of CIC St. Louis within the Cortex Innovation District where he serves lunch at the coworking space twice a week. He’s been involved with the ecosystem from Venture Cafe to the various programs and events that take place within the district on a regular basis.

Cafe 7even is a new restaurant concept to create a community gathering space for meaningful discussions, and will serve health-conscious items for lunch, light pastries, coffee and more. The space will feature an immersive experience of sports and Afghani culture, and will have a retail market of select food items.

Through a partnership with UrbArts of Old North, the restaurant is going to feature local artwork to act as an inspiration for the community and be a catalyst in the area. “I’m excited about the partnership with MK Stallings and his team at UrbArts, as they bring a unique perspective that I don’t have in the creative world,” he said.

He wanted to open this restaurant and cafe on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive because he lived in the area when he first came to St. Louis from Afghanistan and wanted to do something meaningful in the city where he found success.

“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is an inspiration to me because of his work to advocate for and advance human rights, and I wanted to be part of something big to celebrate his movement,” said Fahime. He sees this establishment as an investment in the revitalization of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and the surrounding neighborhood.
