It’s Global Entrepreneurship Week this week, November 14-18, so start your week by planning to hit some of the big events listed in this guide. In addition to those special events, here is another handful of things happening this week.

PluggedIn to Cyber Careers
Tues., Nov. 15, 2-6pm
T-REX Innovation Center
Learn about what’s going on in the cybersecurity industry and different career tracks in the military, corporate and innovation sectors. This year, T-REX and PluggedIN HQ are hosting PluggedIN to Cyber Careers, an educational and networking event for employers and job seekers to connect discuss career tracks in the cybersecurity industry.

Night of Good with St. Louis Area Foodbank
Wed., Nov. 16, 5:30-7:30pm
Industrious Office, 555 Washington Ave.
A Night of Good is a happy hour and your chance to give back to an amazing local nonprofit. Meet other engaging St. Louisans over a round of 4 Hands and tasty slices from Pi Pizza. This month’s happy hour will benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank, who works hard to feed people in need. Admission to this happy hour is free with all donations going directly to the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

Conversations – Let’s Talk About…Technology, Truth and the Public

Donald Danforth Plant Science Center
Join us for an inside look at one reporter’s personal journey of finding a story that surprised her and the public backlash that followed. Author and The New York Times National Correspondent Amy Harmon will share her experience covering the intersection of science and society and the divide between public opinion and scientific data.

Maker’s Cup

TechShop
The Maker’s Cup is TechShop’s new monthly event aimed at providing a fun activity for members to share making with their friends and family. These two-hour activities cost $20 for members. If a member brings a non-member to the event, the event is free for the non-member and the member receives a $20 store credit. Teams of 3 or more will compete in fast and fun maker challenges. Challenges will be a surprise each month and will lean on your ability to work with your hands, problem solve, and strategize against the competition.

Open Data STL is having its Safety and Justice Hackathon. A Code for America brigade, Open Data STL is where local technologists, advocates, designers, and experts gather in teams to focus on solutions to pressing civic issues in St. Louis. At this event, Open Data teams up with Answers for America, Unisys and Greater Missouri Builders.
