Let’s face it, the hiring process can be grueling. Most startups don’t have an HR person or a formalized hiring process and need alternative ways to source, identify and recruit their next hire, which is why we bring you the Startup Talent Showcase. This is not your typical job fair. Here are 5 reasons you’ll want to check it out:

1. We bring you pre-vetted talent that’s prepped and ready.

All you have to do is show up for a half day or full day (up to you) and listen to a series of pitches from job seekers. Then, decide who you want to talk to. Candidates know what the startup environment is about and want to be part of it. They understand what the companies are looking for in advance and will have done a self-evaluation with a pitch prepared for you.

2. No silly booths or marketing materials.

Standing for hours at a booth with pamphlets, random company flair and bowls of candy to lure job seekers is not what you’ll find at this event. Leave the boxes of materials at the office, dress comfortably, and sit back for a relaxed, fun environment. We’ll have food trucks at lunch time and beers and snacks at the end of the day.

3. It’s affordable. Compared to the standard job fair which typically costs a few hundred dollars, companies can participate for the startup-friendly cost of $65, or free if they are signed up to the PluggedIn platform.

4. Follow-up is easy and systematized.

After the showcases, there will be opportunity for you to meet & mingle with candidates. If you miss someone in person, you can find them on the PluggedIn platform, post-fair. Every person will be signed up to the PluggedIn platform, so you’ll be able to be matched and connected with candidates you didn’t get a chance to meet at the event.

5. This is a job fair for the St. Louis startup community.

This is a highly-curated event  to specifically bring together startup companies and startup applicants. Job candidates consist of college students, recent grads, computer programmers and individuals with previous startup experience. There will be internship-seeking students and full-time job seekers (junior to senior, technical and non-technical) all in one place. That never happens! And all candidates have a strong interest in working for an innovative company.
