Startup Connection Announces 70 Startups for Venture Showcase

Startup Connection, the St. Louis region’s annual event focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, takes place on November 16 at Washington University. Today, event organizers announced the 70+ startups selected to participate in this year’s Venture Showcase. These companies will have the opportunity to pitch to members of the innovation and business community and in front of an expected audience of more than 1,300.

As the region’s largest startup event, Startup Connection highlights the breadth of innovation in St. Louis across various industry sectors. The 70+ early-stage startups represent industries ranging from biotechnology and advanced manufacturing to consumer products and tech. The event also features a Resource Fair for organizations that provide resources, services and connections for startup companies.

“Startup Connection is a great event to attend to see what’s new in St. Louis’ startup community,” said Startup Connection Managing Director Phyllis Ellison, director of entrepreneur services and institutional & corporate partnerships at the Cortex Innovation Community. “We have an exciting group of companies this year that really emphasizes the variety of technology and innovation happening in the region.”

Attendees can hear companies’ 60-second pitches, meet the ventures and browse the Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 16 at Knight Hall on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis from 4:30 until 9pm. New this year is a student competition.
