Startup Connection Releases List of St Louis Startups Selected for Venture Showcase

Over sixty startups based in St. Louis have been selected to participate in this year's Startup Connection Venture Showcase.

The region’s largest celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship, Startup Connection ’17, has selected over sixty startups based in St. Louis to participate in this year’s Venture Showcase.

On November 15, 2017, these companies will have the opportunity to display their technologies and services to an expected audience of more than 1,300 people from the innovation and business community.

Entrepreneurs, investors and other members of the St. Louis innovation community gathered for the 2016 Startup Connection at Knight and Bauer Halls on the Washington University in St. Louis campus Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016. The event included a startup showcase, resource fair and pitch sessions.

The goal of the event is to highlight the breadth of innovation in the St. Louis region across a wide range of industry sectors.

The 60+ early-stage startups represent the latest innovations in a diverse set of fields such as biotechnology and advanced manufacturing, to consumer products and tech. Also, the event’s Resource Fair features over 50 organizations that provide resources, services and networking opportunities for startup companies.

“Startup Connection is the anchor event of the region – our annual celebration of the innovation community. You get to meet the new startups entering the market, plus find all the resources you need to grow a company” said Startup Connection Managing Director Phyllis Ellison, director of entrepreneur services and institutional & corporate partnerships at the Cortex Innovation Community. “This is an exciting and energy-packed evening that really celebrates the creativity in our technology and innovation community, with everyone coming together for one night.”

Started in 2008 as an effort to connect IT startups with corporate talent, Startup Connection has grown to be a collaboration of the St. Louis entrepreneur support organizations, civic entities and investment community.

Celebrating their 9th year, Startup Connection ’17 is organized by Cortex Innovation Community, Arch Grants, BioSTL, Enterprise Bank & Trust, GlobalHack, ITEN, and the St. Louis Regional ChamberExpress Scripts is joining as the title sponsor for the event, and Washington University is returning as the Resource Fair sponsor.

Attendees can meet ventures and browse the Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 15 at The Globe Building at 710 N. Tucker from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.
