Lab1500 co-founders Dan Lohman and Jan Andersen are shifting concentration to their growing tech startup, Pushup Social, and in that shift, have made the decision to move Pushup’s operations to Cambridge Innovation Center St. Louis (CIC) October 1. Lab1500 will officially close October 16.

“Three years ago, as we were working on our own startup ideas, we identified a need for a collaborative space where entrepreneurs could go to develop early-stage business ideas and connect with like-minded people,” said Andersen. “We created Lab1500 to serve that community at a time when no one else was. Today, there are so many other wonderful coworking spaces serving that need, so this is the right time to focus 100 percent on Pushup Social.”

Pushup, which was cofounded in June 2013 by Lohman, Andersen, and one of the first Lab1500 members, Yomi Toba, is technology that allows brands to add an online community to their existing website in a matter of minutes. The simple-to-install plug-in aims to extend time-on-site and overall impressions.

Pushup Social’s own community is active, with more than 300 member businesses and growing daily. TechCrunch’s recent spotlight on PushUp has created additional buzz; the company has received more than 90 additional signups.

“We are extremely excited to bring Pushup to CIC,” said Lohman. “The whole environment at @4240 has been designed to maximize growth potential for a tech startup. The density of entrepreneurs, support organizations, and resources will allow us to thrive. This will allow us to take Pushup to the exit level.”

Many of Lab1500’s members will be making the move to CIC with Pushup Social. Since its founding, the coworking and entrepreneur community space has played home to many successful startups, businesses and organizations, including LaunchCode, Domain Tech Report, VentureSTL, The League of Independent Workspaces, Cubicle.com, Independent Youth and Gladitood.

“We are proud to have paved the way for so many other awesome coworking spaces in the region and are excited to take Pushup Social’s next step at CIC,” said Lohman.
