Launched last fall, GiftAMeal helps individuals discover and recommend socially conscious restaurants. Each time a user dines at a GiftAMeal partner restaurant, a meal is donated to someone in need through Operation Food Search. Already, more than 95 restaurants have joined with 3,000 meals have been donated.

With nearly 500,000 people facing hunger in the Greater St. Louis area, Applebee’s recognized that it could make a difference through GiftAMeal.

“We are excited to partner with GiftAMeal to help provide meals to our neighbors in Saint Louis. Applebee’s and Mid River Restaurants are committed to supporting the neighborhoods we serve,” said Michael Gallagher, owner of the 32 Applebee’s locations that joined GiftAMeal. “Each year Applebee’s demonstrates that commitment in millions of dollars, in-kind contributions and countless hours of support that they provide to their communities.”

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Applebee’s takes pride in providing a welcoming, neighborhood environment where everyone can enjoy the dining experience. Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar® restaurants are franchised or operated by DineEquity, Inc.’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Applebee’s International, Inc. and its affiliates.

Join the movement to fight hunger in the St. Louis local community. Download GiftAMeal on the App Store (Android version is currently in development) and GiftAMeal will donate a meal to someone in need to celebrate your support.
