Getting started as a woman in a male-dominated field can make it especially difficult for aspiring female coders to break into the programming workforce. Hence, CoderGirl, a free, all-women’s coding group open to women of any age, background, or skill level. It’s never too late to get involved.
Bring your laptop and code with some of the smartest women in the city.
CoderGirl is building a network of support for aspiring female coders. Participants, ranging from beginners to long-time programmers, hone their skills alongside fellow aspiring developers and female mentors from companies like Boeing, MasterCard, and Enterprise.
In the inaugural CoderGirl session, over 100 women from all walks of life turned out to begin edX’s CS50 course as a pathway into professional programming.
