Anjali B. Dooley, J.D., MBA is the Chief Operations Officer/Legal Counsel of MedAware Solutions, and joined the Company full-time in late 2016 after serving as its primary outside healthcare counsel and external chief compliance officer. Dooley is an attorney, entrepreneur, and business leader with extensive experience in healthcare emerging technology and business law. In her private law practice, her focus was on the representation of start-up businesses in financing and business development matters and on healthcare regulatory compliance, including HIPAA privacy and security rules, the Stark self-referral law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Physician Payments Sunshine Act, and Federal Trade Commission regulations concerning medical technology. In addition to serving as Chief Operating Officer, Dooley also serves as MedAware Solutions’ primary healthcare legal counsel.
Dooley is a leader within the American Bar Association Health Law Section, serving as Vice-Chair of the Section’s Web & Technology Committee and its eHealth, Privacy & Security Interest Group and is also a active member of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). Closer to home, Dooley serves as a Board Member of Asian American Chamber of Commerce for Saint Louis, as the former Vice-President of the South Asian Bar Association – Saint Louis Chapter, and as a member of the Saint Louis University Pre-Law Honors Task Force.
Dooley has served as an adjunct professor at Saint Louis University, teaching “Foundations of Law” in the pre-law curriculum, and as a guest lecturer at Parsons – The New School for Design on healthcare wearable privacy/security issues. She is a legal analyst/expert for local and national news outlets, magazines, and bar associations and was named by Missouri Lawyers Media as one of its “Up & Coming Lawyers under 40” (2012). She is fluent in Hindi.
