Accelerator Program Alumni Becomes Resident Adviser to Future STL Startups

New York transplant to St Louis becomes the first Entrepreneur-In-Residence advisor at Capital Innovators; providing advice to new entrepreneurs going through the same accelerator program that helped grow his own company.

The St. Louis-based venture firm, Capital Innovators, is adding an entrepreneur-in-residence position (EIR) to their nationally recognized startup accelerator program. Devin Turner, CEO of the software company FocalCast will be the first EIR for the program.

As EIR, Turner will share an educational primer on business operations, local startup resources and fund raising, and act as a resource to answer questions and provide information from personal experience.

After founding the company in 2013, at Marquette University in Wisconsin, Turner and the FocalCast team raised over $500,000 in the last 12 months after completing the Capital Innovators accelerator program in St. Louis in 2015 and winning an Arch Grant in 2016.

FocalCast is a web-based collaboration company that combines video conferencing with web based virtual white boarding to revolutionize document annotation and collaboration in corporate communications, market research, and litigation.
