Celebrate United Nations Day in St. Louis: “Human Rights, Close to Home”

The United Nations Association of Saint Louis will celebrate and recognize the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 21 at The Sun Theatre in the Grand Center Arts District.

The event is free to the public but advance registration is required.

Human Rights, Close to Home

This year’s featured speakers will discuss the theme “Human Rights, Close to Home” include United Nations Foundation. All speakers are leaders within their respective organizations and will provide local, national, and global context, on the subject of human rights.

The United Nations Association of Saint Louis is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to building understanding of and support for the ideals and vital work of the United Nations among the Saint Louis community and American people.

Event Details

The theme for UN Day 2018 is “Human Rights, Close to Home.”

Grupo Atlantico will be performing three sets of different dances featuring Colombian, Mexican and Brazilian heritage.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Omega Chapter and JCI (Junior Chamber International) are sponsors of this year’s UN Day. A post-event gathering will commence at The Dark Room in the Grand Center Arts District starting at 5:30 pm.
