4 Hands to Release City Wide to Benefit St. Louis Non-Profits

On Monday, April 11, St. Louis craft brewery 4 Hands Brewing Co. will release its newest beer, City Wide, in support of four area non-profits as a part of its philanthropic “Make Your Mark” project.

City Wide is the newest release by 4 Hands Brewing Co. It will be sold only be the 4-pack and 50 cents from each sale will go directly to St. Louis area non-profits.

An American Pale Ale available in 4-pack can format only and only in St. Louis, City Wide pays homage to the city 4 Hands calls home. Throughout the year, 4 Hands will partner with four different non-profits–one neighborhood based, two civic based and one environmental based–working with one per three-month quarter. During each quarter, 50 cents from each 4-pack of City Wide sold will be donated to that quarter’s charity.

City Wide is the first installment in 4 Hands’ “Make Your Mark” project. “Our goal is to get the consumer involved beyond just the beer,” says founder Kevin Lemp. “We strive to be a positive force in the St. Louis community.”

The 2016 charities that will receive donations from City Wide sales include Cherokee Street/Love Park, Grace Hill, Great Rivers Greenway and the International Institute of St. Louis.

An easy drinking American Pale Ale at 5.5 percent ABV, City Wide pours amber in color with citrus and floral notes on the nose and a nice, smooth finish. Not overly bitter, the brewer says the ale pairs well with other STL favorites such as toasted ravioli and pork steaks.   

While City Wide doesn’t officially launch until April 11, fans can taste the new brew at the annual 4 Hands Lupulin Carnival happening this Saturday, April 2 at 4 Hands, featuring carnival games, food trucks and more.
